Dose Escalation (Titration)
The stepwise climb from starter to maintenance dose — Wegovy runs 0.25→0.5→1→1.7→2.4 mg, roughly monthly.
GLP-1 therapy starts deliberately small and climbs on a schedule: Wegovy's canonical ladder is 0.25 mg weekly for four weeks, then 0.5, 1.0, 1.7, and finally the 2.4 mg maintenance dose; tirzepatide steps from 2.5 mg toward 15 mg similarly. The starter doses are sub-therapeutic on purpose — their job is training your gut's tolerance, not producing results.
Escalation is also where treatment is personalized: prescribers hold a step longer when nausea flares, and some patients maintain at middle doses that balance results and comfort. The two rules that prevent most trouble: never self-escalate ahead of schedule, and treat each step's first week gently — smaller meals, more water. Our programs manage the ladder by message, adjustments included.
